I have seen this in my classroom as I have a tendency to change the room around a lot. Certain desk configurations inspire different attitudes and open, or close, avenues for discussion. I enjoy playing with the geography of my room. In high school the day is divided in subjects and spoken of in terms of thinking in one way at one time rather than making connections.
