Future Friendly Schools already exist... They are called UWCs
12 UWCs (previously United World Colleges) exist around the world with the mission to unite peoples, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. 138 countries with national committees have selection processes to choose the best and brightest students from those countries to attend these 12 colleges around the world where environmental stewardship, student voice and active citizenship form the core of learning. Community is at the heart of the schools and due to the selection process, schools welcome students from a variety of countries and socioeconomic backgrounds. 4 students live together in a room and all students live and learn together for a minimum of two years. Through Creativity, Action and Service projects, Project Weeks, Global citizenship projects, students are chosen to attend some of the strongest institutions in the world and become leaders in their own field. Students are taught to think critically and globally and to understand the complexities of the world around them.. in order to achieve peace. These schools exist already... Please see www.uwc.org for more information and to get involved.

Perhaps TakingITGlobal can learn from these schools as, according to me, there can never be enough such schools.

Thanks for the note! We are definitely aware of United World Colleges - my co-founder has spoken at the Pearson College here in Canada. We'd definitely love to involve some of the UWC schools in the program and have them share some of their practices with the global community.
