What are the most relevant indicators of environmental stewardship in a Future Friendly School?

Let working with environment and sustainability be a part of the curricula

Concepts in biology, ecology/geography, sustainability , local economics can all be "taught" through simple student led projects in school - such as growing vegetables in the school garden and supplying to the local market. Students will learn best as they work with their hands, and appreciate environmental concerns and responsibilities.
