Kids Go Green!
School should not only be teaching how to nurture our environment, but rather, we should set at least once a day to go out to the neighborhood, observe, interview the local folks, or just do a simple survey on environment related issues. With these activities we are not only exposing them to reality but also making them feel that as young kids as they are, they are integral part of the society. After the interview, or survey, then that is the time, that teachers will guide them to plan for action and let them do the action- for me this is called Authentic Learning and Authentic Evaluation, because kids are learning not only theories but most of all learning through real life applications.
